Our Mission
Project Commencement: Initiated by Taylor Breed, John Falkenberg, and Evan Kornack
After working for three years in the corporate world, we have decided to help a cause that we think can have a profound impact on the alleviation of poverty and the promotion of peace around the world: education.
The goal of Project Commencement is to raise $100,000 to fund construction of three schools on three continents. Working in villages that are among the most impoverished in the world, our efforts will bring literacy to communities without an adequate location for education. In October, the first of the three schools was completed in Santa Maria de San Sebastian de Yali, Nicaragua. Upon the completion of fund raising, schools in two other villages in Mali and Nepal will also be built. The venture will be completed in association with buildOn (www.buildon.org), an organization that has constructed more than 300 schools worldwide, in countries including Nepal, India, Mali, Malawi, Senegal, Haiti, Brazil, Bolivia, and Nicaragua.
